Looking at this mosaic heart in the glass dome sparked a thought. The Free Dictionary confirmed that thought by giving not only the obvious definition of a bubble, but the less obvious one of a isolative, protective coating. When you encounter a struggle, mental health or otherwise, the tendency can be to put up a protective covering. You show up in front of people and are visible, but you don’t really let anyone in. If you don’t put down the barrier, then they don’t have the opportunity to offer support. There is freedom in breaking out of that glass wall we cover ourselves in and admitting that we can’t do it alone. It does take courage, but the risk opens the door to relief because we no longer are shouldering it alone. We were never meant to carry our burdens in isolation. ❤️
