Event Description

Join Gail B. as she makes quilting kits through her micro-enterprise efforts with HoustonWOW, benefiting women refugees in Jordan. Read more about Gail’s story here and register for the quilting workshop scheduled for March 22, 1-3pm at Mosaics of Mercy.

What an encouragement to be the recipient of a mosaic heart, a reminder that I am not alone as a mother of a son with a life-threatening, substance use disorder.   The lessons learned on this journey are very similar to those I have learned from ministry to persecuted Christians – how to stand strong in the midst of suffering and trust in God who will either deliver us or make endurance possible.  The solutions Mosaics of Mercy provides through connection to God, creativity, and community perfectly align with those of the Hope Quilt Project I lead through Houston Women of The Way.  We seek to strengthen and encourage refugee women forced to flee religious genocide in Iraq through this micro-enterprise endeavor.  They have faced traumatic persecution for being Christ followers and now find themselves awaiting resettlement in Jordan where they are not allowed to work.  For more information, email Gail at HoustonWOW@aol.com
