Songs have the ability to evoke a strong emotional response and to be a source of inspiration for recovery. My daughter takes voice lessons from an amazing woman by the name of Theresa Yow. When she released her album entitled Made New in 2015, I was immediately drawn to the song that she used for the album name. I have included the link to the song and the powerful video of her testimony. Theresa’s experience parallels mine. Our individual stories are unique, but God did the same work in both of us. When I surrendered my life to Him, He made me new. It was not an instantaneous event, but a gradual unfolding. When I listen to Theresa’s song, I am filled with gratitude for what God has done for me and for others. At times, I find myself blinded by my struggles and I forget how far He has brought me. “Made New” is a reminder to me of the hope that I can find when I look back and see the miraculous work He has done in my life that I never could have imagined and helps me hold onto the belief that He will continue to walk with me and mold me to look more like Him! Theresa has been gifted an amazing voice and God’s light shines through her every time I see her. I have been so blessed by the music that she shares and the fact that she is a wonderful role model to my daughter!
