We do not just talk the talk about this as a family … we walk the walk. All four of us can tell you that it does make a difference to address your mental health. It is not something you have to feel shame about. And while your spiritual health is so important, spiritual and mental health are not one in the same. So it’s important to address both.
Now more than ever people are struggling. When you are with your friends and family in person or connecting with them in other ways at Christmas… ask them how they really are and listen when they answer- without judgment or a lecture. Let them know you are there for them. Have the hard conversation that may feel awkward. It could be the conversation that saves someone’s life.
